In the morning, at the Wacol Military Museum, Wacol, the Governor attended a commemoration service for the Battle of Bita Paka, hosted by the New Guinea Volunteer Rifles and Papua New Guinea Volunteer Rifles Ex-Members Association.

In the evening, at the Treasury Casino and Hotel, Brisbane, the Governor attended the official opening night function of the 2014 Brisbane Festival, followed by a performance of ‘Do Do Land’ in Reddacliff Place.
