On Saturday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey farewelled His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, and wished him well for the remainder of his Royal tour.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey departed Brisbane for official travel to Townsville and Cairns.

Following, at The Ville Hotel, Townsville, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Reception hosted by the Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, the Honourable Jackie Trad MP, and the Mayor of Townsville City Council, Councillor Jenny Hill, where the Governor addressed guests.  

Following, at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey attended the England v India Commonwealth Games Men’s Basketball event.
