In the afternoon, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an afternoon tea for the presentation of the 2015 Winston Churchill Fellowship Awards.

In the evening, at the Brisbane Showgrounds, His Excellency the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey attended the official opening ceremony of The Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland’s 138th Royal Queensland Show, where His Excellency the Administrator received from the Australian Federation Guard the Royal Salute, reviewed the Royal Guard of Honour, the Australian Army Band Brisbane and the Queensland Police Mounted Unit, before delivering an address to officially open the Show – the EKKA.
