On Tuesday, in the afternoon, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC assumed duty as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes assumed duty as Acting Governor.

Also in the afternoon, the Administrator and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Brisbane for an official visit to Central and Central West Queensland.

In the evening, at The Capricornian, Emerald, the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey hosted dinner for representatives of Central Highlands Regional Council and Queensland Rail.
