In the afternoon, at Parliament House, the Governor presided at a meeting of the Executive Council. 

Following, at King George Square, the Governor visited the Queensland Homicide Victims' Support Group Annual Homicide Awareness Day event.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a formal dinner in honour of the Officers of the Order of Australia announced in the 2015 Australia Day Honours List.  Guests included: the Honourable Justice Roslyn Atkinson AO and Emeritus Professor Richard Fotheringham; Major General Stuart Smith AO DSC and Mrs Karen Smith; Professor Nancy Viviani AO; Adjunct Professor Daniel Wood AO and Ms Dierdre Westblade; Associate Professor John Harden AM and Mrs Di Harden; Deputy Commissioner Ross Barnett APM and Mrs Helen Barnett; Brigadier Rod Hamilton CSM RFD and Mrs Catherine Hamilton; Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM and Mrs Julie Gower; Ms Cecily Pearson; and Flight Lieutenant Tim Daelman.
