On Tuesday, in the morning, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC welcomed members of Karana Downs Garden Club visiting for morning tea and a guided tour of the House and gardens.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a luncheon in honour of Chancellors of Queensland universities. Guests included: Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK, AFC (Ret'd), Chancellor, University of the Sunshine Coast; Mr Tim Fairfax AC, Chancellor, Queensland University of Technology; the Honourable Dr Annabelle Bennett AO SC, Chancellor, Bond University; Mr Henry Smerdon AM, Chancellor, Griffith University; Mr John Abbott, Chancellor, Central Queensland University; Mr John Dornbusch, Chancellor, University of Southern Queensland; Mr Bill Tweddell, Chancellor, James Cook University; Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM; and Ms Cecily Pearson OAM.
