On Friday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey departed Brisbane for an official visit to Atherton and Malanda.

In the afternoon, at Council Chambers, Atherton, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey received a briefing on local issues from Tablelands Regional Council.

Following, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey laid a wreath at the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour, Yungaburra.

In the evening, at Malanda Show Grounds, the Governor, with Mrs de Jersey attended and officially opened the 100th Malanda Show, addressed guests and crowned the 2016 Dairy Queen.
