On Monday, in the morning, at St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane City, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the Commonwealth Day multi-faith event, and the Governor read the 2021 Commonwealth Day Message from Her Majesty The Queen.
In the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted a luncheon to commemorate Commonwealth Day 2021, and the Governor addressed guests and read the 2021 Commonwealth Day Message from Her Majesty The Queen.
Following, at Government House, His Excellency received the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Honourable Curtis Pitt MP, accompanied by the Clerk of the Parliament, Mr Neil Laurie, Sergeant-at-Arms, Mr Michael Watkin, and Acting Committee Secretary, Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee, Ms Erin Jameson for the presentation of three Bills, including two Appropriation Bills, for Royal Assent.
Following, at Government House, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted an afternoon reception to celebrate International Women's Day, and the Governor addressed guests.
