Government House Queensland
On Tuesday, in the morning, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC greeted members of the Former Members Association of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) visiting Government House for morning tea and a guided tour of the House and Gardens.
In the afternoon, at the Queensland Club, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended a luncheon hosted by The Cook Society (Queensland). Also, in the afternoon, the Governor greeted staff and students from Cloncurry State School visiting Government House for afternoon tea and a guided tour of the House and Gardens.
In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a dinner in recognition of Outstanding Queensland Contributors. Guests included: the Honourable Dr Desmond Derrington QC and Mrs Patricia Derrington; Emeritus Professor Kenneth Donald AO and Mrs Ann Donald; Dr Nicholas Girdis CBE and Mrs Marina Girdis; Mr Henry Smerdon AM and Mrs Suzy Smerdon; Brigadier Sam Harrison MBE, RFD, ED (retd) and Dr Jennifer Harrison; Mr Thomas Bradley QC and Dr Matthew Young; Mr John Dornbusch and Mrs Margaret Dornbusch; Professor Max Lu and Dr Lian Liu; Mr Bernard Yorke and Mrs Suzanne Yorke; and Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM and Mrs Julie Gower.
