On Tuesday, in the morning, at the Mercure Gladstone, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC hosted a breakfast in support of local industries and businesses, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, at Gladstone Central, His Excellency and Mrs Kaye de Jersey visited Toolooa State High School, and the Governor addressed students and guests.
Following, at Gladstone Fire Station, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey met representatives of the Emergency Services.
Following, at Gladstone, His Excellency toured the East Shores Precinct.
Following, at Gladstone, His Excellency toured the O’Connell Wharf.
In the afternoon, at Boyne Island, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey visited Boyne Island State School, and the Governor addressed students and guests and Mrs de Jersey read a book to students and guests.
Following, at Tannum Sands, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey met with local business owners and leaders of patronages groups.
Following, at the Mercure Gladstone, His Excellency and Mrs de Jersey hosted North Queensland Investiture Ceremonies for the following recipients of Australian Honours and Awards announced in the 2020 Australia Day Honours List and the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List: Mr Bruce Hunt OAM, Mr John Abbott AM, and Mr Keith Jamieson OAM.
In the evening, at Oaks Grand Hotel, Gladstone, His Excellency attended the Rotary Club of South Gladstone 50th Anniversary Dinner, and the Governor addressed guests and launched the club history publication.
