Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Griffith University and University of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.
It is my great pleasure to be here today to observe the signing of this memorandum of understanding between the University of Medicine – Pham Ngoc Thach and Griffith University.
May I begin by congratulating all of you who have worked to build this relationship, this partnership between your institutions which has led to the creation of this memorandum of understanding. I thank you for your dedication and hard work which has been instrumental in bringing us together today.
This is the formalisation of an agreement between your organisations to work together; to build and deepen your existing relationship; to develop capabilities; and participate in exchanges of information and knowledge through your teaching staff and student populations.
And what lofty aims these are. Knowledge is universal; its transfer is greatly aided by partnerships such as this. Already there are number of collaborative relationships between Australia and Vietnam in the field of Medical and Health Services research, as well as a cohort of Ministry of Health participants who have participated in training courses at Griffith University.
This memorandum of understand between the University of Medicine – Pham Ngoc Thach and Griffith University will no doubt create even more pathways for collaborations between our countries in the years ahead.
Thank you and congratulations once again.
