Hyderabad BioAsia 2025 Queensland Showcase Inauguration Ceremony

The Honourable Mr Anumula Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana; The Honourable Mr Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister for Industries and Commerce for the Government of Telangana; the Honourable Ros Bates, Queensland’s Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training; distinguished guests.

As the Governor of Queensland in Australia, I firstly want to express my gratitude to the many Telangana officials who have organised this excellent convention – and for the warm welcome you have given me, Minister Bates and our Queensland delegation to BioAsia 2025.  

I was fortunate to serve Queensland as the State’s Chief Health Officer before becoming its 27th Governor.

Therefore, I know from first-hand experience and a lifetime working in health that Queensland’s health-tech sector is making a significant global impact.

Over the past decade, Queensland has built a solid global reputation as a health-tech powerhouse.

Queensland’s world-class health-tech sector drives global innovation, with homegrown companies leading breakthroughs in hearing health and cancer screening, among other disciplines.

Queensland is home to some of the world’s most exciting health-tech companies, which not only save lives around the world but also diversifies our State’s international export footprint.

That’s why I’m excited and delighted to be here today with our 20 delegates, representing 10 of Queensland’s research institutions and cutting-edge companies.

Together, we are here to continue to sell our message of health-expertise to the world.

To the Queensland delegates here today, I thank you for your considerable efforts to travel to India to and your expert messages of excellence to this important region.

I also thank Minister Bates, Queensland’s Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training - and Trade and Investment Queensland for prioritising this trade mission to this region’s premier health and life science event.

I look forward to cutting the ribbon in a few moments with Minster Bates to officially declare this Queensland showcase open.
