Wellbeing Walk to celebrate Multicultural Australia
Health and Wellbeing Queensland Executive Director, Ms Gemma Hodgetts; Multicultural Australia Humanitarian Sport Program Senior Manager, Ms Jo-Ann Cochran; Queensland Walks Executive Officer, Ms Anna Campbell; distinguished guests; Health and Wellbeing Queensland volunteers; and of course, today’s walkers!
I begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the lands around Brisbane, the Turrbal and Jagera people, and pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and to any First Nations people here today.
We are here today to celebrate for two reasons. First it is Multicultural Queensland Month and Queensland Walks Month. Plus, we will be exploring some of the changes around our bushland over winter. The Horticultural team have been busy managing the undergrowth of our 10 hectares of original bushland and getting the formal gardens ready for September Investitures.
I hope you enjoy your walk and please come again. All our walks are open to anyone to attend and advertised on our website. Feel free to tag us if you are sharing on socials so that others know they can come and join us next time.
As always, many thanks to Health and Wellbeing Queensland for supporting these walks and I invite Health and Wellbeing Queensland Executive Director, Ms Gemma Hodgetts, to say a few words.
