The Drawing Room
The Drawing Room is an elegant, much-used space which enables the Governor to receive official visitors and extend hospitality. While most of the items of furniture and decoration in the Drawing Room are twentieth century pieces or reproductions, the furniture includes several significant and rare items such as two cedar and mahogany ‘demi-lune’ card tables which were part of the original consignments of furniture for Old Government House in the early 1860s and which were brought to Fernberg in 1910.
The artworks adorning the walls depict different views of Queensland. Many pieces are on loan from the Queensland Art Gallery I Gallery of Modern Art.
