On Friday, in the morning, at Somerville House, Brisbane, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, with Mrs Kaye de Jersey, officially opened the Bauer Building and addressed guests.

In the afternoon, at Government House, the Governor received Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament, for the presentation of a bill for Assent.

In the evening, at the United Service Club (USC), Brisbane, the Governor and Mrs Kaye de Jersey attended the 70th anniversary celebration of the USC occupying the Green House and Montpellier buildings on Wickham Terrace where His Excellency addressed guests.
