On Thursday, in the afternoon, at Government House, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted an Investiture Ceremony for residents of Queensland, recipients of Australian honours and awards announced on Australia Day 2016.

Following, at Government House, the Governor received Mr Neil Laurie, Clerk of the Parliament, for the presentation of six Bills for Assent.

In the evening, at Government House, the Governor and Mrs de Jersey hosted a formal dinner for recipients of Australian honours and awards. Guests included: Emeritus Professor Gwendolen Jull AO & Mr Peter Jull; Professor Peter Sly AO & Dr Leith Sly; Emeritus Professor Susan Spence AO & Dr Peter Ellender; Air Commodore Steven Roberton DSC, AM & Mrs Elizabeth Roberton; Mr Nigel Chamier AM & Ms Natalie Barber; Mr Ralph Devlin AM, QC & Mrs Frances Devlin; Dr Vlasis Efstathis AM, RFD & Mrs Olga Efstathis; Reverend Pastor Pedro Stephen AM & Mrs Meiko Stephen; Air Commodore Mark Gower OAM; and Ms Cecily Pearson.
