On Thursday, in the morning, at Longreach Motor Inn, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia and Mrs Kaye de Jersey hosted a breakfast for representatives of Longreach Regional Council and received a briefing on regional issues.

Following, the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey boarded a Kinnon & Co replica stagecoach and proceeded through Longreach streets to Longreach Airport, and then returned to Brisbane.

In the evening, at Government House, the Administrator and Mrs de Jersey hosted a reception in support of the Queensland resources sector where His Excellency addressed guests.

Earlier in the day, at the Executive Building, Brisbane the Honourable Chief Justice Catherine Holmes, Acting Governor of Queensland, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council.
