Government House marked the conclusion of Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM’s Vice-Regal term with a Farewell Parade at Fernberg Estate on Sunday 1 November 2026.
The parade provided an opportunity to acknowledge Her Excellency’s service to Queensland and the contribution she has made throughout her term as the State’s 27th Governor.
Since assuming office, Her Excellency has represented Queensland at significant civic, community and ceremonial occasions across the State, championing causes including health and wellbeing, Indigenous literacy and environmental sustainability.
Through her extensive regional visits, patronage work and engagement with Queenslanders from all walks of life, Her Excellency has continued the important role of connecting Government House with the wider community.
The Farewell Parade marked a moment of reflection and recognition as Her Excellency concluded her term and prepared to hand over the responsibilities of office to her successor, the 28th Governor of Queensland.
